Pitt-Titusville will be holding its 2018-2019 cheerleading tryouts on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in the gymnasium. There will be a camp from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., where you will learn all of the tryout material, followed by tryouts at 2:30 p.m. on that same day. The purpose of the Pitt-Titusville Spirit Squad is to support the athletic teams at Pitt-Titusville and to promote the campus and what it has to offer at various community service events.
You do not have to have prior cheerleading experience to try out for the squad, but you do have to have a commitment and a positive attitude.
We have several special events throughout the year that help enhance your total experience during your time in the program, including local competitions, a Christmas party, and an end-of-the-year athletic banquet.
During tryouts, each candidate will be taught a series of cheers/chants, dances, and/or stunting for the tryout. Candidates will also be asked to perform their best three jumps (including toe touch) and tumbling (if they can tumble). Dress code is dark shorts, light colored shirt/tank (no writing), white socks, and tennis/cheer shoes. For females: hair up and make-up should be appropriate for game day. NO JEWELRY IS PERMITTED IN CHEER!!! IF YOU HAVE AN EARRING ABOVE YOUR NECK THAT YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO TAKE OUT FOR PRACTICES AND GAMES, THEN CHEERLEADING IS NOT FOR YOU. No exceptions!
