Eugene Bruce Read's Civil War Journal for 1864 - 1865

Original Court House, Christian County, Illinois   Statue of President Abraham Lincoln in the center of the Rosamond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, Christian County, Illinois.  Center photo reads, "IN MEMORY OF THE UNION SOLDIERS AND SAILORS AND OF THEIR BELOVED COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF AND NOBLEST FRIEND, 1861-1863."

Click on thumbnail to see photo of statue of President Lincoln next to the cannon used at his election rallies throughout the State of Illinois. The cannon was presented to Lincoln by the Putnam Family and a group of other original settlers of Rosamond, Illinois.
