REGIONAL CONFERENCE

 

 

TITUSVILLE, Nov. 19 – Stephanie Thomas, University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Director of Student Activities, recently served as coordinator of onsite responsibilities for the 2004 National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Mid Atlantic Regional Conference.

Thomas accepted the responsibilities of the onsite conference coordinator when the conference coordinator was unable to attend.  Currently, Thomas serves as the Association’s regional communications coordinator, a volunteer position she has held since May 2003.

Part of her tasks at the Conference included working with a volunteer committee of 30 students, staff, and associate members from the region, as well as overseeing production of 68 showcasing entertainment and lecture acts, nearly 70 educational sessions, and volunteer recruitment.  In addition, she worked with the UPT representatives attending the conference to book entertainment for the campus.

Thomas has been employed at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville since 1999.  She is a graduate of Waynesburg College and is currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, Oakland campus.

The conference was held October 17-20 in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.  The NACA Mid Atlantic Region includes colleges and universities from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, the surrounding metro area, and the Canadian Province of eastern Ontario.

NACA links the higher education and entertainment communities in a business and learning partnership, creating educational and business opportunities for student and professional members.
