LIFE
AWARDS BANQUET
TITUSVILLE,
April 20,
2001 -- The
annual Student Life Awards Banquet at the
University of Pittsburgh at Titusville was held
on Tuesday, April 3, in the J. Curtis McKinney
II Student Union.
The dinner and awards ceremony recognizes
those students who display exemplary commitment
to co-curricular activities.
President
Michael Worman welcomed the students and
congratulated them for their efforts and
accomplishments this year.
Jeff
Schneider, Director of Student Affairs,
presented Student Life Awards to Christopher
Byko and Michael Gualano and Freshman Leadership
Awards to Janet House and Brian Porter.
Candace Robinson received the Residence
Life Award.
Schneider
recognized students nominated to Who’s Who
Among Students in American Junior Colleges:
Christopher Byko, Alexandra Cottrell,
Maria Everett, Christine Gamrat, Brian Garrity,
Meredith George, Lynnea Griffin, Michael Gualano,
Daniel Hasbrouck, Sandi Huey, Miranda Karns,
Gloria Matha, Ryan McConnell, Lyn Newell, Harry
O’Brien, Bethany Paden, Kinja Patterson,
Shanna Ritts, Ebony Roberts, Candace Robinson,
Rachel Rose, Michael Waychoff and Heidi
Wonderling.
Stephanie
Thomas, Director of Student Activities,
presented awards to several students who were
nominated by UPT faculty and staff for
commendable community service:
Wanda Applewhite, Christopher Byko, Adam
Chesia, Audree Cook, Christine Gamrat, Joseph
Gustafson, Nicole Mailliard, Melissa Powell,
Jessica Richards, Concetta Shelton, Debbie
Smith, Jamie Stroup, Chad Sterling, Morgan
Walker and Michael Waychoff.
Lauren Mustaikis and Bethany Paden were
named to Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society.
Dave
McEnteer, Coordinator of Intramural Sports,
presented Intramural Athlete of the Year Awards
to Shanna Ritts and Eric Schneider.
Kristina
Richards, Director of Residence Life, presented
the Resident Assistant of the Year Award to
Brian Garrity and the Resident Assistant Highest
Q.P.A. Award to Ryan McConnell.
She recognized all resident assistants
for their excellent service during the academic
year, and announced the resident assistants for
academic year 2001-2002.
Other
groups and organizations honored by their
advisors included the Student Ambassadors,
Chemistry Club, Commuter Student Association,
Student Activities Board, Student Government
Association, Food Service Committee, Phi Theta
Kappa, SIFE Team, members of the Volleyball and
Basketball teams, volunteers for Volleyball,
Basketball and Intramurals, and the
Sodexho-Marriott Staff.
