Special discount offered this year!

TITUSVILLE, Aug. 20 - The 2004 – 2005 Spotlight Series, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville and the Titusville Winter Theatre, is ready to roll with one comedy event, three musical events, and two diverse and classic plays.

The Series begins in earnest and lots of laughter on Monday, September 13, with Chicago’s legendary comedy theatre group, The Second City.

On November 4, 5, and 6, audiences will enjoy a performance of that classic play, Arsenic and Old Lace, directed by UPT’s own President Michael Worman and performed by Titusville Winter Theatre.

This year, the Series is bringing back, by special request, two evenings of musical favorites and introducing a completely new sound.

On November 29, the Pittsburgh Piano Trio, part of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, will return to the stage a beautiful sound.

On January 25, Steel Impressions, the six-piece steel pan band that wowed audiences a few years ago, will kick off the 2005 portion of the Series.  This family of musicians delivers an unforgettable performance.

The Series will then bring a totally new and unique sound to the stage on March 15 with Slainte Mhath, a Celtic band with a diverse repertoire of music.

To round out the Spotlight season, Titusville Winter Theatre will perform another classic play, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, a grim satire of life in a mental institution.  Jeremy Wakefield will direct.

Season tickets are now available at a special discount - $45, seniors and students - $20.  Tickets may be purchased in the UPT Public Relations Office in McKinney Hall, or by calling 827-4503.
