UPT SIFE TEAM TEACHES SMART CREDIT CARD USE

THROUGH WEAKEST LINK GAME

TITUSVILLE, Feb. 8 -- The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Students In Free Enterprise Team recently presented their popular Weakest Link seminar to students.

The seminar was conducted by Chad Sprohar and former SIFE Team President, Joseph Gustafson.  The Weakest Link presentation and game was conceived and developed by the UPT SIFE Team to teach college students responsible use of credit and how to avoid credit card pitfalls.  Credit card debt can become a serious concern for many college students while they are attending college.

Presentation topics included:  problems associated with credit card debt, credit card savvy, credit card awareness, credit card features, and federal laws protecting cardholders.  After the presentation, students and faculty played the Weakest Link with the game show host and SIFE Team Advisor Melanie Anderson.

Game questions were based primarily on the presentation.  Eight UPT students participated in the game; six were eliminated by their scores and by their classmates voting them out of the game.  Of the last two contestants, Jeraun Kennedy, a business major, won $50, and Marcus Coefield, a business and pre-law major, received $25.

SIFE is a nonprofit, international organization with active teams on over 870 college campuses in over 33 countries worldwide.
