UPT SIFE TEAM PRESENTS "WHO WANTS TO BE A
MILLIONAIRE?" TO MIDDLE SCHOOL
TITUSVILLE, Nov. 18 – The University of
Pittsburgh at Titusville Students In Free
Enterprise recently presented their “Who Wants
To Be A Millionaire?” program to the entire
sixth grade class, about 200 students, at the
Titusville Middle School. Mrs. Stroupe and Mrs.
Shaffer’s math classes enthusiastically welcomed
the SIFE Team for the fourth consecutive year.
The presentation was conceived and developed to
help children understand the need to save and
invest their money at a young age. It is part
of “SIFE’s National Fiscal Fitness Month.”
Developed by SIFE as a special competition,
“National Fiscal Fitness Month” encourages SIFE
Teams to develop educational outreach projects
that teach others the personal financial
management skills necessary to achieve financial
independence.
“Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” introduced the
sixth graders to investment concepts and the
importance of investing early to allow money
time to compound. Stocks, bonds, mutual funds,
and Roth IRAs were discussed. The UPT SIFE Team
reinforced these concepts with a game entitled
“Who Wants To Be A Turkish Millionaire?” The
winners received the equivalent of one million
Turkish liras, about 66 cents in U.S. currency.
SIFE, founded in 1975, is a non-profit
international organization with active teams on
more than 1,500 college campuses in 37 countries
worldwide. SIFE’s vision is “Helping people
achieve their dreams through free enterprise
