UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH AT TITUSVILLE FINALIST

IN SIFE NATIONAL BUSINESS ETHICS COMPETITION

TITUSVILLE, Oct. 20 - The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team was named one of 15 finalists nationwide in SIFE’s National Business Ethics Month competition.    They received a cash prize of $500 for their program on Workplace Ethics.

The Workplace Ethics program was developed by the UPT SIFE team to increase student awareness about ethical issues and their own ethical beliefs.  As part of the program, students were surveyed on their responses to five ethical scenarios.  For example, if you found $50 in a classroom, would you keep it or try to find the person who lost it?

In addition, the UPT SIFE Team provided a presentation on ethical issues, and then worked with small groups to discuss several of the ethical scenarios on the survey.

Founded in 1975, SIFE is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with business and higher education to provide college and university students with the opportunity to make a difference and to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise.
