UPT SIFE TEAM PRESENTS "INTERNATIONAL CURRENCY COLORING BOOK" PROGRAM TO 2ND GRADE STUDENTS

TITUSVILLE, Oct. 15 - The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Students in Free Enterprise presented their “International Currency Coloring Book” Program to 38 second-grade students at Hydetown Elementary School on Wednesday, September 29.

The presentation was conceived and developed by the SIFE Team and their faculty advisor to help children gain a better perspective of our global economy.  Students were introduced to 10 countries and their unique currencies.  They reviewed geography and key facts about each country.

The Sacagawea dollar was used to illustrate United States currency throughout the coloring book, and related to the equivalent amount of a foreign currency.  Melinda Hart, Assistant Manager at Northwest Savings Bank and a UPT SIFE Board member, provided each student with a Sacagawea dollar at the conclusion of the program.

SIFE, founded in 1975, is a non-profit international organization with active teams on more than 1,500 college campuses in 37 countries worldwide.  SIFE believes in “helping people achieve their dreams through free enterprise education.”
