MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS COMPLETE

SIX CHEMISTRY SEMINARS -- COMPLETE CHEMISTRY CHALLENGE PROGRAM

TITUSVILLE, Pennsylvania June 20 -- Four Titusville Middle School students wrapped up their school year by successfully completing the Chemistry Challenge Program at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.  Jason Drake, Ed Hilliard, Katie Jones and Jared Porcenaluk completed all six seminars of the program. 

Under the direction of Dr. Ping Furlan, associate professor of chemistry at UPT, the students enjoyed learning about the composition of fireworks, acid-base indicators, slime, web page design, as well as other topics.  One student said, “It linked science and chemistry to something fun and interesting.”
