UPT LADY PANTHERS WIN PJCAA STATE TITLE
The Lady Panthers, in their first season on
the court, went all the
way to the State Championship AND won the
title!

TITUSVILLE, PA – Mar. 1 – The University
of Pittsburgh at Titusville Lady Panthers
wrapped up their first basketball season with a
state championship win. As part of the
Pennsylvania Junior College Athletic Association
(PJCAA), the UPT Lady Panthers and Manor College
of Philadelphia challenged each other on the
basketball court on Saturday, February 26, on
the UPT campus. The Lady Panthers won with a
final score of 76–69.
At the half, the score was 35-30 in
UPT’s favor. The Lady Panthers maintained their
strong playing momentum in the second half to
the final win.
A rundown on UPT players is as
follows: Nijha McNeely scored 18 total points
and had 14 rebounds. Chasity Ingram scored 12
points, including four 3-pointers and 12
rebounds. Point Guard Shauna Browning scored 19
points and 8 assists. Felicia Sonson added
another 15 points to the Panther score.
Athletic Director Dr. Barbara Reagle
said, “UPT is extremely lucky to have Bob Lynch
as one of our coaches. He is a talented coach
who has done a tremendous job this season. He
brought home the State Championship even though
we are the smallest college in the Conference.
The girls did an outstanding job, and I am proud
of each one of them.”
Three of the Lady Panthers were
named All Conference Team Members and All State
Team Members: Chasity Ingram, Nijha McNeely and
Shauna Browning.
Coach Bob Lynch was named the PJCAA
Conference State Coach of the Year.
