PRE-PHARMACY MAJOR NAMED OUTSTANDING

CHEMISTRY STUDENT

 

Justin Smerker of Lucinda was named the 2003-2004 Outstanding Freshman Chemistry Student at UPT.  He will begin his sophomore year as a pre-pharmacy major.

TITUSVILLE, July 21 - Justin Smerker, a pre-pharmacy major at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, was nominated and selected as the 2003-2004 Outstanding Freshman Chemistry Student at UPT.

            This annual award is sponsored by the Erie Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS).  The selection is based on the nominee's outstanding academic achievements in chemistry and active involvement with programs promoting public chemical education. 

            Smerker is a 2003 graduate of North Clarion High School and the son of Matt and Alona Smerker of Lucinda.
