TITUSVILLE WINTER THEATRE TO TAKE THE STAGE

WITH INHERIT THE WIND

TITUSVILLE, Mar. 13 -- Under the direction of Bruce Peterson, Titusville Winter Theatre will perform Inherit the Wind at 7:30 p.m. on March 20, 21, 22, 28 and 29 in Henne Auditorium of the Broadhurst Science Center at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.

 Based on the Scopes Monkey Trial of July 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee, Inherit the Wind is an adaptation of the actual events that took place when legal giants William Jennings Bryan and Clarence Darrow came face-to-face over the issue of evolution.

 In the play, the legal giants are known as Matthew Harrison Brady and Henry Drummond, whose strong courtroom deliveries are captured by local veteran actors David Cope and Jon Sherman. 

 A large cast of additional local talent promise to deliver an outstanding performance:  UPT student Ryan Hatch as Bert Cates, the teacher on trial for teaching evolution, UPT student Emily Hall as Bert’s girlfriend Rachel Brown, Todd Daugherty of Pleasantville as reporter E.K. Hornbeck, and from Titusville – Bill Logan as Reverend Jeremiah Brown, Richard Roeder as The Judge, Dwight Proper as The Mayor, Jim Murphy as District Attorney Tom Davenport, Clark Hall as the bailiff, and Pam Logsdon as Mrs. Brady.

 In addition, numerous minor supporting roles will be played by Sarah Wurzbacher, Bryan Snyder, Terri Wig, Peggy Logsden, Carol Hall, Justin Armstrong, Sean Carey, Paul Lukach, Curt Carbaugh, Tim Snyder, Ron Wig, Ryan Wig, as well as other UPT students.

 Assisting Peterson with directing will be Dwight Proper and UPT student Jen Ganchuk.
