ANTHONY J. NASRALLA, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF TITUSVILLE HOSPITAL, WILL SPEAK AT UPT GRADUATION

 

Anthony J. Nasralla, President and CEO of Titusville Area Hospital, will present the graduation address on Saturday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. in Henne Auditorium, Broadhurst Science Center.

TITUSVILLE, April 18 --  Anthony J. Nasralla, President and CEO of the Titusville Area Hospital, will present the graduation address at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville’s seventh annual graduation ceremony to be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in Henne Auditorium, Broadhurst Science Center.  Twenty-six students will be awarded Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

          Nasralla earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Planning and Administration from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.  He has been Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital since 1987.  Under his expert leadership, the Hospital has enjoyed consistent growth and was named to 100 Top Hospitals for 2000 by HCIA-Sachs. 

          Prior to coming to Titusville, Nasralla was Chief Executive Officer for Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana, Assistant Administrator of Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Indiana, and Manager of Operations for the Altoona Hospital in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

           He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Academy of Medical Administrators, and the American Hospital Association, and has served as Chairman of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania and Vantage Healthcare Network.  In addition, Nasralla currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Deerfield Behavioral Health Network.

          In 1997, he received the Regents Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives; in 1996, he was named Alumnus of the Year by the Pennsylvania State University Program in Health Policy and Administration; and in 2001 he received the Director’s Award from the Titusville Chamber of Commerce.

          Students and faculty will march to the tunes of bagpipes played by Eugene Zimmerman to and from the ceremony.  Sixteen of the 26 graduates will participate in the ceremony.

         During the graduation ceremony, new members will be inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honors fraternity.  In addition, honors will be awarded to students in Humanities, Natural Sciences, Business, Social Sciences, the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, the Part-Time Student Award, and for Outstanding Student Achievement.

        Following the ceremony, a reception will be held for graduates, honorees, family, faculty, staff and friends in the lobby of the Broadhurst Science Center.  The public is invited to attend both graduation and the reception.
