 GUEST SPEAKER AT UPT GRADUATION

 

Representative Teresa Forcier (R-6th District) will speak at UPT's sixth annual graduation ceremony on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m. in Henne Auditorium.

TITUSVILLE, Apr. 17 -- The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville (UPT) will hold its sixth graduation ceremony on Saturday, April 27, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in Henne Auditorium, Broadhurst Science Center.  Thirty-one students will be awarded Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

Rep. Teresa Forcier (R), 6th Legislative District, Pennsylvania House of Representatives, will be the featured speaker at graduation.  Rep. Forcier has served as a state representative since 1991.  She presently is serving her fourth term, and is a member of the House Appropriations, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committees. 

In addition, she serves as vice-chair of the Game and Fisheries Committee and has been appointed to the House Majority Policy Committee.

Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Rep. Forcier served as Assistant Director in the Crawford County Tax Claim Bureau and as Legislative Assistant in both the 5th and 6th districts.

In 1995, Rep. Forcier was named Crawford County Republican Woman of the Year by the Northwest Council of Republican Women.

She is a member of the Crawford County Republican Board, as well as an active member of her community in the Cambridge Springs Kiwanis Club.  She and her family reside in Venango, population 729.

Rep. Forcier supports property rights, gun rights, right to life, sportsmen and women, emergency providers, rural issues and business issues.  At graduation, she will address the students regarding their “Investment in the Future.”

At the graduation ceremony, students will be inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honors fraternity, and other honorees also will be recognized. 

A reception will be held for graduates, honorees, family, faculty, staff and friends in the lobby of the Broadhurst Science Center.  The public is invited to attend both graduation and the reception.
