TITUSVILLE, Feb. 8 - Dr. Ping Furlan, associate professor of chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville and advisor of the UPT Chemistry Club, has recently accepted an invitation to join the American Chemical Society (ACS) Committee on Education Task Force on Undergraduate Programming.

The goal of the Committee is to nurture undergraduate chemical science students through programming at national and regional meetings.  According to the Committee, Dr. Furlan was selected because of her dedication to the ACS local section, undergraduates, and the Student Affiliates Program.

As a member of the Task Force, Furlan will chair the fall 2007 ACS meeting in Boston, and will be required to attend all other national meetings.  In addition, she will assist with regional meeting programming by reviewing one or two sets of proposals during her tenure from January 2005 through December 2007.
