TITUSVILLE, Pennsylvania June 20 – The
University of Pittsburgh at Titusville
chemistry/biology research project, “A FTIR
Analysis of Mouse Urine for its Urea Content,”
has received a paper invitation from esteemed
journal Spectroscopy Letters.
Under the direction of Dr. Margaret Hermanek
Peaslee, Vice President of Academic Affairs and
Professor of Biology, and Dr. Ping Y. Furlan,
Associate Professor of Chemistry, the project is
being conducted by UPT students Justin Servey
and Steven Scott.
According to David Butcher, Associate Editor of
Spectroscopy Letters, “The mouse project
would be an excellent fit for our next issue’s
focus – applications of spectroscopy in
undergraduate education and research.” Readers
of the journal include spectroscopists,
analytical and physical chemists, biochemists,
and physicists.
