REWARD OFFERED FOR MISSING BRONZE PLAQUE

 

The bronze plaque at left disappeared from campus sometime prior to February 3, 2004.  A reward is being offered by the University.

TITUSVILLE, Feb. 13 – The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons that removed a bronze plaque that contained the University seal and the words “University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.”

            The plaque was pried from a brick wall at the entrance of the Helene Barco Duratz Plaza, located at the intersection of East Walnut Street and North Petroleum Street in the City of Titusville, sometime prior to February 3, 2004.

            The plaque is 36” high and 48” wide, oval in shape, with a slight curve, and is estimated to weigh 300 pounds.
