The Northern Allegheny Project, l0cated in room 206 McKinney Hall, is a watershed conservation initiative covering the geographic region of the oil, brokenstraw, tionesta, and conewango creeks, including the main stem of the Allegheny river that falls between.

gina ellis, director of the project, is offering unique, experiential learning opportunities for students with the following majors and/or interests:

  • biology/environmental science

  • history/social science

  • English

  • art

  • education

skills that will be enhanced through participation include:

  • interpersonal

  • organizational

  • writing

  • research

  • public speaking

  • community involvement/consensus building

  • technical (e.g., water quality monitoring protocol)
