UPT SPTA members of the Class of 2006 attended the APTA's 13th National Student Conclave in Denver, Colorado from October 20-24, 2005. More than 950 students of physical therapy attended the 2005 Conclave. Students participated in sessions on the following topics: cultural competence, geriatrics, pediatrics, cardiovascular/pulmonary transplantation, sports physical therapy, orthopedics and how to pass the licensure exam.
In addition, the students made trips to Golden, Colorado, the Denver Zoo, and Pike's Peak (elevation 14,110).
After a year of fundraising, UPT SPTA members of the Class of 2007 reached their goal of attending the APTA's 14th National Student Conclave in Dallas, Texas from October 27 - 29, 2006. More than 1600 students of physical therapy attended the Conclave, making this the largest event to date.
Students participated in sessions on the following topics: humor in rehabilitation, pediatrics, women’s health care issues and how to pass the licensure exam. Employers, manufacturers and publishers were eager to network with the future of the physical therapy profession.
In addition to attending the Conclave, the students made trips to the Dallas Galleria for shopping and ice skating, the Dallas Arboretum, and enjoyed Mexican and Indian cuisine. |
