Student Employment - Office of Human Resources

Student eligibility to work on the Pitt-Titusville campus will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Human Resources does not provide job placement for student employment. Eligible students must contact department supervisors directly to inquire about a position. A list of potential student jobs, department supervisors and contact information can be found at Student Job Opportunities.

New Hire Requirements

Once the Office of Financial Aid has notified a student of their eligibility to work, the student must contact the Office of Human Resources at 814.827.4422 to schedule an appointment. You will not be permitted to work until all employment documentation has been completed.

For returning student employees, after the Office of Financial Aid has determined your eligibility, you must contact the Office of Human Resources at 814.827.4422.

  • PRIOR to an appointment with the Office of Human Resources, new hire students must follow these instructions:

    • Supervisors are required to provide necessary employment documentation to potential student employees.
      • Students are to contact their supervisor for the required documents.

    • Complete section 1 of the Form I-9 by using I-9 Express. This confidential and secure service allows you to quickly and conveniently complete section 1 of your Form I-9 online.

    • Original Social Security card must be presented for payroll purposes.

    • Students that have worked in Pennsylvania in the current year, bring a current pay stub or receipt showing the deduction of your Local Services Tax.  The total tax for Titusville is $52 and must be withheld in equal amounts from each pay.  Students exempt from this tax MUST complete the following Exemption Certificate.

    • Pitt-Titusville's Office of Human Resources must receive a copy of the completed certificate with supporting documentation by September 12, 2014. Students are responsible for mailing the original form, along with supporting documentation to:

    • Payroll Direct Deposit is required:
      • Bring a voided check to your appointment.

        OR

      • Bring a Banking Institution form noting the name of your institution, your Account Number and Routing Number.


    • Payroll is available on the last business day of the month.


    • Pay statements will only be available on-line at my.pitt.edu. The site provides:
      • Secure on-line access to current pay statements on payday
      • The ability to view past pay statements for three years
      • 24/7 access from any computer

All documents must be provided to the Office of Human Resources at your scheduled appointment.

  • PAYROLL FACTS

    • Student wage is $7.25 per hour.

    • Payday is the last business day of each month.

    • Direct deposit for payroll is now a requirement.

    • Friday, October 31, 2014, is the first payday for fall semester; (August - December).

    • Friday, January 30, 2015, is the first payday for Spring Semester; (January - April).
