Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Steve Allen enters his 2nd season as the Head Coach of the Men’s Program at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville after completing a 14-14 season in his inaugural campaign.  His first season as head coach was highlighted by the team scoring a program record 89.6 ppg including 5 players averaging double figures.  A season high 5 game winning streak in January was the best stretch of the year as the team reached an also season high 3 games over .500 (14-11).  Additionally during his first season as head coach, Hiree Peoples (now attending Pitt-Bradford) scored his 1000th point, finishing with 1017 in his career, and Paul Klenke (also attending Pitt-Bradford) surpassed 100 career 3-pointers finishing with 122 in his career.

With 3 returning players and several new recruits, The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Men’s Basketball program enters the WPCC (Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference) for the first time in several years looking for a conference title.  The combination of returners and new recruits will look to improve upon last year’s .500 season and help usher Pitt-Titusville into a new era of success and prosperity as a program.

A graduate of Medaille College with a Master’s degree in Special Education, Steve was a part of a program that has been in the postseason the past 6 seasons including 3 NCAA tournaments. Medaille also has more wins in the past 6 seasons than all but 5 schools in Division III. Steve is also a graduate of SUNY Fredonia where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in childhood education. He attended high school in Johnson City, NY.

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville enters its 51st year and its first year back in the WPCC for its’ 2014-15 season.

Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Josh Ward joins the Pitt-Titusville staff from nearby Hermitage, PA. He has been the head 9th grade boys coach and JV and Varsity Assistant for the Hickory Hornets for the past two years. Josh has also coached for Penn-Ohio Blue Storm AAU program for one season. In addition to basketball he has also coached Boys and Girls High school cross country and track teams at Hickory.

Josh graduated from Ohio Valley University with a BS in Wellness Education while being was a member of the Men’s basketball team playing against many top teams in the country of Division II.  Additionally, Josh recently graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Exercise Science. He attended high school at Hickory in Hermitage, PA.

Josh’s duties at Pitt-Titusville include running the strength and conditioning program as well as film breakdown and game planning for upcoming opponents.
