Pitt-Titusville’s Education and Training Hub to Host Fall Open House

TITUSVILLE, Pa – The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville’s Education and Training Hub will hold a fall open house at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 21, on the Pitt-Titusville campus.

Prospective students and families will be able to meet with the hub’s partners to discuss the wide array of programs available in 2024, as well as ask questions about programs and admissions.

Pitt-Titusville’s Education and Training Hub was launched to provide educational and workforce opportunities for residents in the region. The hub’s partners are Pitt-Titusville, Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, Swanson School of Engineering’s Manufacturing Assistance Center, and Manchester Bidwell Corporation’s Brockway Center for Arts and Technology.

Northern Pennsylvania Regional College continues to use the Pitt-Titusville campus as one of its instructional sites for a variety of associate degree programs, including business administration, criminal justice, general studies and early childhood education. In addition to its workforce certificates and associate degrees, NPRC also continues to provide pre-requisite classes for students wanting to enter Pitt-Titusville’s Associate of Science in Nursing program.

The Brockway Center for Arts and Technology at Titusville is in its second year with its Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy program. The first cohort had 100% pass rate on its certification exams and all students received jobs in their desired field. Both cohorts started at their maximum capacity.

The MAC debuted its programs in 2021 with students completing one or both of its programs in basic machining and/or computer numerical control (CNC) programming. MAC courses can be completed full-time in as little as six weeks or part-time over 15-weeks with courses starting throughout the year.

“Enrollment continues to grow and we are excited with the opportunities available for residents of our region here at the Hub. Our programs are all offered in-person and assist the student learners to develop the necessary skills in that field of study to be employed in our region,” said Dr. Stephanie Fiely, executive director of the hub. “We are working hard to provide the resources for people seeking workforce opportunities and associate degree programs that fit the regional job-market and it is extremely encouraging to see so many residents seizing these opportunities.”
