Gerald Sayers has been hired as a campus police officer at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.
Sayers brings with him twenty-one years of law enforcement experience, having served as a patrolman, sergeant, lieutenant and eventually as acting chief of police during his career with the Oil City Police Department. Sayers retired from that department in 2001.
Between 2001-2014, Sayers worked for the U.S. Investigations Services (USIS) in Grove City as an investigator, providing the agency with background checks for government employees.
At Pitt-Titusville, Sayers will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of university buildings, persons and property in addition to enforcing federal, state and local laws as well as university rules and regulations.
Sayers assumed his duties on June 9, 2014. He resides in Oil City with his wife Lisa.
