PITT-TITUSVILLE’S EDUCATION AND TRAINING HUB TO LAUNCH NEW NAME, LOGO

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – The Education and Training Hub at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville has a new name and logo, to be unveiled to the public, at a launch event on March 11th at 10:30am in the Broadhurst Science Center, Henne Auditorium. This event is open to the public.

“We’re very excited to share our new name, logo and other new materials with our neighbors in the community who have helped to play an important part in the hub’s success,” said Dr. Stephanie Fiely, executive director. “We hope the community will be as excited about this important project as we are.”

Since the hub’s launch in 2020, momentum has been increasing, including an overall enrollment increase of more than 20% in three years. Enrollment for the fall 2023 term had the highest enrollment over a three-year period.

“Unfortunately, not everyone knows about the exciting things that are happening at the hub,” Fiely said. “We realized it was time to hire a consultant who could help us develop a brand for the hub. This plan will help us more effectively communicate the hub’s energy, momentum and how it’s empowering students to go and succeed.”

After receiving proposals from several marketing firms, hub officials hired Red Cactus Marketing, of Tucson, Ariz., for market research. Based on the results, a new name was evident, along with a new logo and other communications materials. The new collateral will help the hub and partners enhance messaging and more accurately communicate hub benefits to students and the region.

The project, which spanned most of 2023, started with a survey of community members within the six-county region. The goal was to determine how familiar residents were with the hub, its partners, how to effective describe the hub, and its most important attributes.

“That survey confirmed what we suspected,” Fiely said. “A lot of people were unfamiliar with the hub. Only 12% of those surveyed were familiar or very familiar with the hub.”

Based on those survey results, Red Cactus developed a brand foundation. It includes brand pillars to help differentiate the hub, a new name, logo, tagline, and new design, all developed to help tell the hub’s story more effectively.

Red Cactus worked closely with hub administrators and partners and Advisory Board members who lent their expertise and insight.

The hub is composed of five partners. The University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering Manufacturing Assistance Center offers Basic Machining and CNC Programming and Operations courses. Brockway Center for Arts & Technology, a subsidiary of Manchester Bidwell Corp., which provides the Clinical Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy program. Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, which offers course that lead to five associate degrees, including business administration and social sciences. Pitt-Titusville, which offers an associate degree in nursing.
