Stephanie Fiely, Director of Student Activities at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, was recently named a 2015 National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Mid Atlantic Regional Graduate Mentor.
In this volunteer role, Fiely will be working with a graduate student in western Pennsylvania who is studying in the field of student affairs. She will be providing insight and counsel about becoming an effective student activities professional, co-present an educational session with her graduate mentee at the annual regional conference in Buffalo this October, convey the importance of professional development through volunteering with NACA and in the student activities profession, and mentor the student through questions and networking.
According to Parris Carter, Executive Director of Student Affairs, "Stephanie will serve as an amazing Mentor with the NACA Organization. She has been affiliated with NACA for over a decade in various roles. Stephanie has always advocated NACA as an educational experience for her students and has encouraged them to participate at the regional and national levels. We are very proud of Stephanie’s long and distinguished association with NACA. As a colleague, I am motivated by her work and desire to stay involved professionally. It has continued to be a source of pride for our University. Having her serve as a Mentor, will just add to that. This is another demonstration of her commitment to her field and the university."
In the past, Fiely has served as a previous graduate mentor, regional communications coordinator, regional conference chairperson, regional liaison to the board of directors, National Convention committee chairperson, and National Convention chairperson for the 50th anniversary convention. Fiely has been honored with the NACA Mid Atlantic Region’s Outstanding Professional Award in 2006 and the NACA Legacy Award in 2012.
