Admissions Process to Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (LECOM) School of Pharmacy

  • Successful completion of the pre-pharmacy curriculum at UPT
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 in pre-pharmacy curriculum, with no grades lower than a “C”
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 in science and math courses, with no grades lower than a “C”
  • Submit two letters of recommendation.  One letter should be written by a pharmacist; the other letter MUST be from the pre-pharmacy selection committee at the University.  The letter will address the personal growth of the student during the pre-pharmacy phase of the program, as well as the student’s maturity, responsibility, and desire to become a pharmacist.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to the pharmacy profession
  • Submit a completed application for admission to the LECOM School of Pharmacy
  • Student cannot repeat a course.
  • Personal interview at LECOM
  • The Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) is strongly recommended.
  • Students who have taken pre-requisite courses, such as dual enrollment,  in high school must supplement each course with an additional, higher-level course in the same discipline.
  • Students cannot withdraw from any course during a semester in an effort to reduce their course load.  Such withdrawal will result in the student’s removal from the program.
  • Pre-requisite courses cannot be taken pass/fail.
  • Students cannot take any requirements during the summer term.
  • Successful passing of a criminal background check
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent residen
